My trip to Budapest can be described as impromptu, but that’s what I do best. After a months of stalking – wait, I mean talking – to some of my favourite pornstars, a few things all seemed to line up nicely and it felt like going was the only choice. Filming in Budapest this week as been a new experience for me that I’m enjoying thoroughly, and the delicious Hungarian food probably helps too.
The first thing to happen was finding out Jimena Lago, an up-and-coming pornstar from Spain would be visiting Budapest to shoot content before her porn expo in Barcelona gave me enough reason to want to go. Jimena is a great girl, and you can check out my blog post about her as well. She’s a million times better in real life though, fun and cute and sexy.
When we met up we basically just fooled around, and she made putting make up on hard since we were laughing so much. She also introduced me to a board game I had never heard of before, but is very popular in the rest of Europe. I really hope I can meet her again, and I would happily fly to Spain or wherever just to hang out, she’s basically the Spanish version of me!
Interestingly, this morning I had a continental breakfast, and I felt like it truly belonged in this cafe setting I was in. Normally it’s an option at hotels or inns and I always thought it was just a pastry and cereal and orange juice. However the cold cuts of meat and the cubes of cucumber, as well as the croissant all added to the dish and for a moment I was envious of the rest of Europe for having such a cool breakfast.
Budapest, and maybe the rest of Hungary, is obsessed with burgers at the moment, and almost every street has either a burger joint of a kebab shop. In some ways I feel like I hadn’t left London, seeing that the shops here include Tesco and Subway. I think I could easily spend more time in Hungary without feeling homesick.
The architecture of Hungary is really impressive. I’ve passed two train stations which are big and glassy, but not modern. They put the train stations I thought were cool in the UK to shame. There are lots of different types of buildings including decaying grand ones that are possibly left over from the Soviets. The roads are a mix of large main roads and very neat one-way roads. It’s a fascinating city and I plan on coming back as soon as I can.
