Me! No, seriously. I won an award! I can’t quite believe it still. Thanks to everyone who voted for me and the UKAP judges, my little home-grown website has won it’s first ever award. I had an amazing time at the UKAP awards last night, and met some fantastic people.

The night starts off pretty early in the morning for me. For some reason, I thought it would be a fantastic idea to go get my hair dyed and trimmed ready for the awards. Note to self, don’t book a 3 hours hair appointment when you have a schedule to keep to. It’s worth it though. My hair has never looked better.

I also figured wearing a corset under my opaque raincoat would be a fantastic idea. Who needs to breath after all? It’s the smallest I’ve ever seen my waist. As well as my lungs. However it was the outfit I decided I would slay in.

The UKAP 2016 awards are hosted in the private members club 14 Leicester Square. I’ve never been before. The club is luxurious in it’s design, with low mood lighting and a centre stage. Normally there would be a pole there with exotic dancers, but tonight the stage is set up for pornstars.

Everyone gets a glass of Champaign when they arrive. I don’t drink any. I’m too nervous for one thing. I don’t really know anyone else attending. I arrive early so it’s a bit easier to introduce myself to people, before the place starts filling up. It turns out that the hour before the award starts is when I manage to meet some of the coolest attendees.

I met Ella Hughes, an amazing pornstar who is wearing a vintage cut dress. She stands out to me because her dress is so elegant. Ella is so nice to me from the start and helps introduce me to other stars. We find a place to sit and chat for a bit with Carmel Anderson.

Carmel Anderson is wearing one of the sexiest dresses I’ve seen. She’s also helping to co-host the event. I don’t realise straight away, but she’s not wearing any underwear. I’m embarressed to say I didn’t realise until she started flashing for everyone. It’s a very pleasant surprise.

Before long, the awards start properly. They’re being presented by Ben Dover and Lindsey Dawn McKenzie. I manage to get the whole show up on periscope, and you can watch the feed here. The first award is for “Most Voted Person” – and I didn’t even realise that was going to be an award. Even more shockingly, my name comes up on the shortlist.

Lu Elissa wins the award. She looks stunning in a mesh dress and I’m so thrilled for her. I was lucky enough to catch a selfie with her earlier.

Before I realise it, my category is being called. It’s such a strange feeling, the moments before the name is called out. I’m nervous but excited. First I hear my name on the shortlist, then when the envelope opens and they announce that I’ve won I have no idea what to do. I’m speechless.

I go up on stage, almost shaking. There’s more people here than I thought, and a row of photographers right in front of the stage. No one else has really made a proper speech yet, but since this is my first ever award I really wanted to say thank you properly. You can watch my acceptance and speech on periscope.

I am honestly lost for words. It’s such a big deal, to be acknowledged and appreciated. The website means so much to me. I’ve worked so hard on it, and winning the award really drove home the fact that it’s worth the hard work. People are congratulating me as I walk past. People keep coming up to me much later on, and even after the awards. It’s almost overwhelming, but it feels very, very good.

I take more selfies, give and receive lots of hugs before finally going home. My friends convince me to take a photo with some police officers in my awards outfit. It’s a silly thing to do, but also kind of funny. Truly a fantastic night. I can’t wait to do it all again next year!
